Local Multiplayer does not function for iCade Controllers #267

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.Sideload mame4droid on OUYA
2.set input to original iCade
3.Play ROM

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected Result:

iCade controller 1 controls player 1.
iCade controller 2 controls player 2.
iCade controller 3 controls player 3.
iCade controller 4 controls player 4.

Actual Result:

iCade controller 1 controls player 1.
iCade controller 2 controls player 1.
iCade controller 3 controls player 1.
iCade controller 4 controls player 1.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

MAME4droid(0.139)-1.4.3-MULTI.apk
OUYA Software Ver 1.0.8 (Cuurent as of Aug 2013)
Android Version: 4.1.2 Kernel Ver: 3.1.10-g1897e27

Please provide any additional information below.

I truly appreciate this APK and I know it is an excellent emulator. My only
wish is that I may use both iCade controllers I purchased to play 2 player roms
with MAME4droid.

Presently this works perfectly for the Ouya Controller. Mame4droid auto
detects Ouya Controller 1 and Ouya Controller 2 without problem.

I would like for Mame4droid to detect iCade controllers the same way. With any
luck this is not too difficult as both are bluetooth controllers.

Sorry. But it is imposible. ICade send a fixed keystrokes and I can't separate
one for other.

Looks like you had answered this question previously with

"Local multiplayer is only supported with sixaxis or wii mote controllers."

Well.. it appears it works with ouya controllers too and possibly PS3
controllers. I think my only option might be to gut my iCade Controller and
re-wire it using PS3 components.

Really only ps3 and wii controller support is for iOS. Android support a lot of
gamepad like Logitech ones.

that is excellent information. I will pickup a cheap logitech gamepad, see if
it works then gut the components and transfer them into my iCade. I just
prefer the feel of a joystick rather than a gamepad for mame games. Thanks
again.
