It would be great to have in student profile two fields for name, one to be
displayed to the world (in the project page at Google Code or anywhere
else) and another one being our legal name (for instance, to be used for
payment stuff).
Last year it was easily handled because we had to send a form with our bank
info so we could specify a different name in that form this implying no
change in the student profile. This year the data for the stored value
cards are being collected from the student profile so I had to change my
name in there and so the change was propagated to the external world which
made me unavailable for people that are googling for my name / looking for
my project. I do often give talks about my GSoC project and although I
always tell my email address at the presentations, people always end up
googling for me to get my email address. This won't be possible anymore
while my name in the profile has changed from "Igor Feghali" to "Igor
Barcelos".
Note that we could also have a third one for the name we want to be printed
in the certificate, in my case it would just be the same as the first field
(or display name) but other people may think different.
