Unable to assign mentors to student applications

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Organization administrator logs into the web app
2. Attempt to assign a mentor to an application
3. The operation times out giving a 502 server error

Error message:
"Server Error - The server encountered a temporary problem and could not
complete your request.  Please try again in 30 seconds"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the selected mentor to be assigned to the student's application.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
