Some applications marked incorrectly as "(ownership requested)" #57

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. View list of Mozilla Foundation applications
2. See several marked as "(ownership requested)"
3. View the individual applications
4. See that there is no option to make anyone the mentor

This affects the following applications:
http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=PBwJHhIfVSUKGBQJEgJdHSIKNUlcFg
lVAHgGaUlcEFlVUiBQbw%3D%3D
http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=NBYLXRhBUi0RPRsLHxFxVCwEMR9KEA

http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=NRINHwBQQTUNMRgBCgpfcyYIORoIXQ
heXntdbURcQF4HVnsEaBJdRF1UBA%3D%3D
http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=KhwJEgVUXSoKdhwIFgxxVCwEMR9KEA
RcCXkEPkdSRA4ICSVVbUZUEl9V

I'm fairly certain the problem is that they are incorrectly marked
"ownership requested", rather than that a mentor name is failing to show
up. This is because a couple of them are fairly unlikely to have acquired
mentors at this early stage. But I could be wrong.

I believe this issue occurs when someone requests to mentor the application,
then
later clicks the "I am unable to mentor" button. The system will still show the
application as having ownership requested. Can you verify this is the case with
these applications?

That seemed to be the case for our project and now seems to be resolved. The
list now correctly shows only
those that have an active mentor requesting ownership.

I will ask.

I have tracked down what has happened in one particular situation.

nagappan@gmail.com has agreed to mentor this application:
http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=NRINHwBQQTUNMRgBCgpfcyYIORoIXQ
heXntdbURcQF4HVnsEaBJdRF1UBA%3D%3D

When he views it, he sees an "I am unable to mentor" button, indicating that
the app
has accepted his mentoring request. However, when I (as an Administrator) view
the
above URL, I do not see an option to approve him as a mentor. So there is
clearly a
bug here.

Assigning to jrobbins.

I'm looking at the data in our database for
http://code.google.com/soc/mozilla/app.html?csaid=NRINHwBQQTUNMRgBCgpfcyYIORoIXQ
heXntdbURcQF4HVnsEaBJdRF1UBA%3D%3D
and I don't see any mentor listed as willing to mentor this student, and it is
not
marked as "(ownership requested)".

Likewise, the other applications that Gerv referred to do not seem to show the
problem now. I also looked through all the "ownership requested" apps in about
15
other orgs, and every one of them had some mentors in the drop-down.

There may be a software defect here, but it might have already been fixed by
other
recent changes to the web app, or it might only show itself as a transient
problem
that will be hard to catch.

I'm going to close this issue now because I cannot reproduce it, but if we see
new
evidence we can open it again.
