Status of this R package

Hey! I am currently starting to look into the performance of torch vs. pytorch and I was reading this issue: https://github.com/mlverse/torch/issues/147, which lead me to this package here. I would be happy to try and help close the gap in runtime performnace between pytorch and r torch.

I have two questions regarding the torchoptx package:

• are there some numbers that check how much of a speed increase this yields?
• are there any major issues that block the development of this package to extend it to all optimizers and make it available on CRAN?

There is at least one typo in the package which causes installation to fail from prebuild binaries: https://github.com/dfalbel/torchoptx/blob/a7045bcebb3b4615aa9f3a1ba2814aa1c6b07d47/R/package.R#L70

This repository is not part of mlverse but dfalbel's personal repository.
