Add option to delete profile picture. #3514

There is no option to delete the actual profile picture. I think this is really important.

Thanks, @nbussman! I've gone ahead and turned this into a Feature Request; I'll drop it into Tracker and see if anyone might pick it up. :)

OK. I hoped it might bring it to the attention of more people, so it wasn't left up to the people already aware of it to do something about it. Apologies for creating 'noise'.

Featured request for over a year. I'd like to delete a picture to start using diaspora. :(

Is this likely to be a reasonably straight-forward feature to create? We could publicise it from DHQ if so. I'd like to start advertising things we really want created, along with (but separately from) the bugmash posts, so that people who'd like to join in can be inspired to take something on.

It does involve making sure to dispatch a retraction for the photos, so it does require some tinkering. The Rails side of things should be pretty straight forward though.

OK thanks. Perhaps not a starter job, but a discrete job that someone with a bit more experience could tackle.

Is there any news on this? I want to go back to using gravatar. Is there a way to do that without having a delete option?

We don't employ gravatar, so deleting all your profile pictures won't solve that.

Just noticed that #3801 is a dupe of this. Since that shows more activity I close this one.

@mpatel-tba it is now possible to delete your profile picture: simply go to your profile, open the Photo tab, mouse over the picture you want to delete and click the trash icon in the top right corner.

I don't find photo tab and trash icon on profile page, so not able to delete/remove photo.

What's your pod version? The tabs were introduced in the 0.5 version of diaspora*. If your pod is still using version 0.4, you can access your photo stream from your profile page, clicking on your avatar. the icon will be a cross, not a trash.

any news on this ?- I'm not able to do whatever is mentioned here to remove the image
