experience with Battery life and reliability #12

Hi together, i would like to build a combination of: Grow R503 Fingerprint Sensor + ESP32 with ESPhome + equiva Smart Lock (and maybe a relay for ringing the bell if Fingerprint is "unknown", to use it as doorbell. But my wife is very skeptical of the doorbell combination)

Did any of you try to do the same and can give me some tips and tricks? E.g. should i use ESP32-S3 for better performance of Fingerprint+equiva control?

My old Door bell until now is a Switch in a "Unterputzdose" flush-mounted box. So i would need to fit all parts into the "Unterputzdose" and provide Power from the cellar.

How long does the Battery of the smart lock last with the ESPhome setup? How reliable is the setup? have you faced problems with the R503 Fingerprint reader?

Thank you a lot in advance for your answers!

I have created a custom ESP32-C3 for doorbell with R503. So far 100% reliability since I set it up.

Most doorbells in Germany have 4 wires going to it. So I used the unused two wires for 5V power supply.
