In think we should move it all over.
thus: a php/MySQL/phpmyadmin installation?
Looks like we need a shopping list of packages to install that will give you the dream config.

I'm all thumbs over here.

@damg70, Would it be advantageous to move our homepage to dahi? Of course we would adjust the address to not be dahi. As of today, I am tending toward moving everything over though I also see a case to be made for if it aint broke don't fix it. The main issue is that it is currently a hassle to update anything or install anything because of limited access to system and even our own dirs. This provides an extra layer of security, but making it difficult to update means we don't update, which undercuts same security.
In particular, I would like to set up participad so we can co-write like in google docs but for the blog. Could be great for liveblogging stuff. Also useful to knock out more mundavne stuff collaboratively rather than authoring in google docs and pasting to wp or delegating to one person and doing revision round-robin cycle. Pretty sure particpad requires we have our own etherpad install, which requires node.js. I doubt we'll get that out of webhead. Originally, I wanted to set up buddypress as part of the Commons-in-a-box, but the lack of simultaneous editing is sort of a deal killer there I think.

LAMP stack and shiny and tomcat servers all in already. no phpmyadmin yet but I think I can add that.
Will provide PWDs.
depends on #75 which is done
@damg70, this is your gig, no? I can try, but you have more wp experience.
prereq for #87
downloaded xml file of wordpress site for rehydration if/when we move it to dahi. have to download all images and other supporting media next.
Yes, I agreed with you above on moving it. let's do so. I put it in as by the end of the semester, which I am hoping is reasonable for going live. I have to go back and explore the domain name thing in a letter better depth, but we can set it up as a mirror, test it out, and then flip the switch to either a new domain with a re-direct on the old arthum digital addresses. I think we can do that with a little .htaccess and mod_rewrite magic so anything going to anything that starts with the old url will just get sent to the new homepage, wherever it is. If we don't get a fancy domain name, then it is simpler still, just asking someone at its to redirect it.

@damg70, huston's mapping entry uses the map from old url. Once that is switched over, the link in http://dahi.colo.hawaii.edu/2015/02/take-me-out-to-the-ballgame-the-evolution-of-early-stadiums/ will break I think. see #53.
http://dahi.colo.hawaii.edu now loads wordpress.
wordpress up and live at dahi.manoa

In addition, we could do auto updates I think, because we have access to sftp.
