Connection timeout

Hi! i'm facing this connection timeout error:

A timeout occured after 30000ms selecting a server using CompositeServerSelector{ Selectors = MongoDB.Driver.MongoClient+AreSessionsSupportedServerSelector, LatencyLimitingServerSelector{ AllowedLatencyRange = 00:00:00.0150000 } }. my connection string seems fine and works when i connect directly by MongoClient. Also i can operate with the collections.

which version are you using?

I experience the same issue with v4.0.0-rc.1 connecting to a vanilla mongo Docker image. I assume it has something to do with the MongoDB driver being updated from v2.7.3 to v2.10.4 in that release. Looking on the server's logs it seems that - while creating the indexes - the driver tries to use SSL to connect to the server, although it is not configured:

I dug quite a bit into the depths of the MongoDB driver code, but couldn't really figure out what's going wrong yet.

Hi, Tim.

Could you send me more details about the error? I'm using mongo docker image as well, but it worked fine for me. The collections and indexes were created correctly.

Hi again,

so I got it to work again. I first tried starting up the demo host project from the repository which worked just fine. I then compared the demo's Startup with my own. Mine was:

while the demo's Startup was setting some event options on AddIdentityServer, which I copied over to my Startup:

I have the same issue while connecting to dockerized MongoDB. The connection string contains username/password. But other programs able to connect and insert documents.
