A real-time chat application, the subtopics that will be covered include an introduction to Directus, where I will explore its content and data managing features, additionally touching on its user-friendly interface. The body of the post will include four subtopics namely;

1. Breaking down the concept of WebSockets, its mechanisms, importance and their role in allowing real-time communication
2. Setting up a Directus project
3. Building the frontend chat interface
4. Integrating authentication and authorization to ensure secure access to the application
5. Deploying the application and testing for functionality
6. Conclusion

At the end of the post the audience will be able to apply what they learnt should they need to build real-time chat applications using Directus and WebSockets, one as a headless content management system, the other for instant communication.
