For the weapons and equipment created, are they going to be effecting the hero sprite appearance when equipped or will just the stats be added?

I think that will be too annoying to program and but it is worth checking out. http://www.gamefromscratch.com/post/2014/01/09/Creating-dynamically-equipped-characters-in-2D-and-3D-games.aspx is a good place to start looking
