7 years ago Perhaps focus on restaurants to start with as they are looking for quality and reliability first? Farmers are not the most tech savvy - how could you reduce friction for them? Perhaps build in a subsciption model for customers so they know what to plant in their feilds next year and can sell them before they're in the ground.
Does it really need it's own coin? Wouldn't ETH be better for transactions?

Purpose
The purpose of Farmerchain is to allow the farmers to sell their products like cereals, fruits or vegetables in a decentralize way directly to the customers without centralized intermediates. Farmechain will reduce the cost of the products by removing the price increment the intermediates, like distributors, add on the products so the farmers will increase their revenue and the customers pay less.

District0x is key to deploy a market place where the farmers and customers meet their offers with their demands without the wholesales or retailers. Farmerchain will have its own currency (FMC) and it will be used to reward the customers who certified that the farmers' products have the quality to be eaten. Thanks to the blockchain technology we want to decentralize the agriculture industry to empower farmers and customers.
As a Farmer
The farmer will take advantage of the Aragorn project to create a virtual organization.
As a Customer
The customers will earn FMC credit when they validate the quality of the farmers' products. This process will require a technology that Farmerchain will sell to the customers who wants to validate products.

Thanks to District0x and the district created for Farmchain, the farmers will be able to sell their products without the aggressive prices the distributors or retailers pay nowadays. On the other hand, the customers will buy fresh products directly from the farmers with a better price.
