Suggestion: Timed Choices #115

A feature where the player has to choose and type it out within a certain time limit, if the time runs out it continues to the "consequences".

ie. Chatter: Hello Timer: 20 seconds (Line bar getting smaller and smaller near the chatbox)

If Player Chooses and sends their message in time, proceed as normal with the chosen choice >>> Chatter: Hello Player: Hi 😄 Chatter: Eyy :3

If Player didn't choose in time, proceed with "Consequences" >>> Chatter: Hello Chatter: Nvm- have a good day!

This feature also allows for Timed Visuals such as "Chatter is Typing..."

This is a great idea, thanks for suggesting this. I'll add it to the roadmap.

What do you mean with: This feature also allows for Timed Visuals such as "Chatter is Typing..."

Timed Visuals are Visuals that would happen on screen: an Image Pop-up, Jumpscare, Typing status, Background Change and Dimming, Visual Glitch, Vibration, Notifications for Different Chat DMs(?), Toggle Dark Mode/Light Mode Chatroom, Online/Offline Status, etc.

i.e. Timed Visuals can be applied to:

[These are simple examples without involving the overall in-game playtime of the Player]

The feature of Timed Choices could also have Timed Visuals (by additional options), Timed Visuals that would happen on screen like whenever someone is typing, the typing status UI for that shows within that time period, before disappearing or reappearing again, can also be applied to Online/Offline Status in chatrooms, etc. ...

It could also be a Background Change, where it would change for a short period of time, or Background Dimming which the Background Image darkens for a set period of time WITHIN that TIME FRAME of the Timed Choices.

Example: TIMED CHOICE >>> 30 Seconds (EXECUTE: Background Dim in [[0.0secs --- (START)15.3secs >> 20.1secs(END) --- 30.0secs]])

The timed choices I can get behind, that's a pretty standard game mechanism, but instead of proceeding with ”Consequences” it just proceeds with the first choice.

The timed visuals can already be achieved by adding them before the message. I don't really see how they make sense in the context of a timed choice, as that is where the primary focus of the player should be, and they shouldn't be distracted from it.

You're free to not do the time visuals if you want, I only thought this was a cool thing that I could suggest at that time of writing. :) If I think about it now, yeah it could pretty much be done manually.
