Switch Accounts Between Enterprise and AGOL #30

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Our users have access to maps in our AGOL environment, which is used to share maps and data with external parties, and our enterprise environment, which hosts our more secure data. In addition, some of our supervisory users will participate in user acceptance testing and have access to our test enterprise environment.

Our users often switch between these accounts multiple times a day. Currently in Collector Classic, the users have a "Switch Account" function that allows them to cache their credentials and switch between the three environments without issue.

With Field Maps, the switch account functionality is deprecated. Furthermore, the users must have a network connection to authenticate. Can the offline switch account function please be implemented in Field Maps?

Describe the solution you'd like

Users must be able to switch seamlessly between environments. One app in our Portal environment is a road observations app. One app in our AGOL environment is a forest fire reporting app. If users are in the road observations app and notice a forest fire, they will not have the time or patience to authenticate into another environment on poor cell data, especially where my organization is seeing severe issues with the sign in process in Field Maps.

Describe alternatives you've considered

If the users are working offline, we do not have a resolution or workaround for this issue. It will break our user's workflows.

Thank you for your consideration

@AndrewCroisier have you tried to configure Enterprise Online Collaboration instead of switching users?

@BrentPierce We have, one of my colleagues has been investigating it. We haven't been successful, the last update I had from him he was seeing some authentication issues; the app was prompting him for AGOL credentials repetitively.

One other note is that even if users have offline areas downloaded locally on the device in AGOL and in Enterprise, they still can't switch between them without a network connection to authenticate

I will look into this on our end and might reach out for more details because these behaviors seem like a bug to me. Will be in touch.

@BrentPierce That would be fantastic. If you would like to do a call and screenshare, I would be more than happy to share details about our environment and our experience with the sign in process so far. Thank you
