Would be nice to have a better IDE integration #52

Hi,

I know this is a big one, and you probably want to focus more on the core functionalities first. But I think it would be very nice to have a better IDE integration (I personally use eclipse). Something basic, like right-clicking on a step in the feature file and being able to jump to the implementation.

I saw there are some plugins in eclipse for other BDD frameworks, maybe it's possible to extend them to add support for Cola annotations?

Anyway I thought i'd open a feature request. I understand if you don't tackle it in the near future.

Cheers

Daniel,

Correct, that's part of the plan. Better IDE support is a must have, not an option.

Unfortunately my time is limited! Right now I'm focusing on the next milestone features. After that, I'm not contemplating any major feature to be added as the framework will be already pretty functional for version 1.0.

Next will be be better reporting tools like static reporting in html as well as json or xml for third party consumption. After that will be dynamic visualization of scenarios while in execution (many ideas on this front).

Only then I will be able to come back to further IDE improvements. Last but not least, Scala support (2.0) and Android (3.0) support.

Now, this is in short, what I have in mind but unfortunately my time, like with everybody's else, is restricted.

You are more than welcome to contribute with something like that if you wish. The project could really use better integration in both Eclipse and IDEA. :)

Cheers
