Was failing on tests-St.R only on oldrelease; see comments in StSignificanceTestingCrossedModalities for how this was fixed; have to be careful how I sync newly generated good values as git does not always detect the the file has changes; so I do a two step process: delete the file and commit; regenerate the file and commit; what I fixed was a data frame issue and I cannot be sure that this fixed it or if it was a git issue; anyway now all test and checks pass on travis; and on OS X; so merging; but keeping this branch for continued work. do not delete this branch!!
