polygon not found error occurs reproducibly on multipe vignettes in GitHub Actions on Mac OS latest (release) #84

Commit a8b4e6262a3e99d8b25a7194d73e71026c6c8fad produces these errors:

polygon edge not found

I will be moving all vignettes to my online bookdown books, so these errors will disappear in future commits. I am leaving this, for the record, as a closed issue, in case it comes up again in future .
