Unable to remap "UI Select" #35

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go into Config menu
2. Select "Input (General)"
3. Attempt to remap "UI Select" to some key other than Enter

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the chosen key to perform the UI Select function.  Instead, the UI 
Select function is still mapped to the Enter key.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Latest version of mame4all-pi (Sept 2 2013).

Please provide any additional information below.

Here's my issue.  I have an Amazon Fire TV box and I can't map the UI_SELECT to 
the Fire TV remote. When I attach a Wireless Xbox 360 Receiver/Joystick, it 
works great. But... the UI_SELECT will only map to XBOX controller, so far.  I 
connected another USB joystick and no button is recognized for that either.  
But, here is the twist that bother me the most.  When I define P1/P2/etc keys 
from the application settings all the buttons are recognized perfectly.  It 
does not recognize them from the in-game settings.  But the UI_SELECT cannot be 
assigned from the application settings!! So, bottom line, when I don't have an 
XBOX controller, I can't play, because I can't select anything on the menu.  
I've also tried a usb keyboard and a mouse, and it was the same.  I could not 
figure how to change from the config file directly, because 
/sdcard/Roms/MAME4droid/ are all the in-game settings.  I'm not sure where all 
the application settings go (and whether that would make any difference 
really). HELP.
