I created this flowchart, which shows how the NCIP information is retrieved and displayed in search result pages (SERP). I choose to create this picture, because it might be more clear than to write it down with words. Please let me know if this would not be clear, or you would need more explanation.

Let's not make the release tied to having NCIP completely documented on the Drupal.org site. Agreed?
