Flashing Spectrum Analyzer without Bootloader #11

I've got POGO pins. Can I flash HEX files directly? Or do they require the Bootloader?

ea commented 3 years ago

Probably, yes. For that matter, you could flash the bootloader over the exposed test pads, too.

But do note that this project requires extra hardware to be soldered onto the main board which requires opening it up anyway.

I've got the CC1101 about to be soldered (Waiting for glue to dry), but would love to close it up and not have to open it again. One mre related question... Can I flash the unit with the POGO pins while the CC1101 is attached?

Well, flashing the Spectrum Analyzer Hex works fine without the bootloader. When I add the CC1101, I'll check if I can still program it, and report back.

How'd it turn out? I failed a bootloader flash and am curious about that before I erase and burn again

I don't think I tried flashing after installing the CC1101, I flashed it beforehand, and once it was installed, I didn't bother trying to program it again.
