what did you do to the asuran atlantis city ship? and other faults from the 1.05 version. #91

ok i installed the 2.0 upgrade and the 2.0 patch.
I then went to play the Asurans on a hugh game. This is what i found so far.

1). I started out with a Atlantis city ship and i paid for a 2nd capital ship. 
Then i saw that Atlantis city ships now cost 13000 credits, 4000 metal and 3000 
cryatal(whatever the SGI designations are for metal and crystal). SO i 
thought.. ok so now they are costing what they are worth seeing as they are 
very powerful ships in 1.051.

SO i'm play8ing and conquering neitral planets near me. I get to my first real 
neutral opponent strength, meaning 2 wraith cruisers an Illuminator and 8 
bomberr squareons of 5 bombers each, i'm also fighting 1 fighter squadron of 8 
fighters. Now i make 4 fighter and 1 bomber squadrons each with only 3 
fighter/bombers in them. my city ship gets destroyed by the bombers and fighter 
stuff.

WTF? If you are going to make it terribly costly to make the ship you had 
better keep the ship as strong as it was in the 1.05 version. NO ONE will pay 
that incredable amount of resources for a ship that can get destroyed by only 
bomber/fighters!

Why would you make a capital ship have inferior amounts of bomber/fighters in 
their squadrons when going up against neutrals?? THat also makes me NOT want to 
play version 2.0 at all.

2). Next, i went to try to build a star base as the Asurans and I got the same 
thing that was in 1.05, but that is now very very expensive. In fact most good 
fighting things under the asurans is very costly! I also remember in one of my 
replies to this question that we would be able to place like 4 star bases at a 
major site in higher numbered versions of the mod. If that is still true, these 
higher costs are very bad!

3).Then there is That coding for the adding of a "Lucien Alliance base" (pirate 
base in vanilla) still sprouts 3 pirate bases when we make a player generated 
game.

I make those whenever i have a player created game with more than one stars, so 
the pirates do not have to travel between the stars to do their job. PLEASE fix 
this so when we want to make a Lucien alliance base we make only ONE new pirate 
base, not 3 of them.

So far i'm very disappointed in the upgrade. I'll try the human and wraith 
players and see how balanced their sides are.

These are the Asurans by-the-way... replicators, that means they should cost 
lots less cause they do not get paid for their joining services and they should 
be really fast at making things not take a much longer time to build big things 
(like the Atlantis city ships 360 seconds)

Now, if the person who did the changes for the Asurans was an "Asuran hater", 
yeah, I just made that up, then i can understand why the hugh unbalancing 
changes in version 2.0 with the 2.0patch.

can't wait for the awesome replies that you all have sent before to my 
seriously asked questions. I really do love your mod. personally, i think it's 
the most intelligent sins entrenchment mod there is, and I'd like to see it 
stay that too for a very long time.

Neutral planet militia's will be getting weakened in the future, but Atlantis 
is and will likely stay a weak ship early on that becomes godly once it gets to 
the higher levels. Remember that it wasn't designed to be a combat ship and 
that without ZPM power it is really quite fragile. 

As far as ship cost/build time, the Asuran ships have to cost a lot and take a 
while to build or else the they are way overpowered. That or their strength 
gets nerfed significantly. 

And following canon, while they are replicators, they built their ships like 
the Ancients did. They did build them relatively faster since they don't need 
sleep/recreation, but the ships are still very complex and would still take a 
while to build. However, they will likely get mid-late game upgrades that 
decrease ships build time and perhaps cost as well. 

And imo the cost is justifiable because while Asurans wouldn't get paid, they 
still have to invest significant resources to build their ships which has to be 
represented in sins economy. I suppose I could make them cost pure 
metal/crystal, but I don't think that would work out well in the end.

Starbase stats, along with planet defenses in general, are yet to be started 
really. Plans are still to be able to place 4 starbases around starts but 1 at 
planets. 

Sorry you are disappointed with the update, but it is alpha and we are trying 
to get things right, especially gameplay wise. You might see the Asurans as 
weak, but they're really actually very close to the other races when comparing 
their strength vs supply, cost, and time.

And thanks for the feedback in general. It made me check the Asurans out again 
and realize that I had their starting frigate costing too much supply. Now you 
won't have to send Atlantis out alone at the start of the game.

oh yeah in ref to reply #2.. is there any way that y'all can increase the 
supply at all? maybe you might consider adding a 20% increase in supply as a 
level 8 tech for all races :)

mate if you can build an atlantis city ship real size and funcionality in under 
360 seconds im gonna give you all my money
