Audiobooks + gPodder? #1

Hi.

Couple of questions:

  1. Could your plugin be re-worked to provide the same (save + restore) service for audio files tagged as audiobooks?
  2. Do you know if anyone is working on a gPodder.net sync plugin for Rhythmbox podcasts?

Hi,

  1. I can certainly add more genre types to the plugin. Are your files tagged as Audiobook?
  2. Sorry don't know the answer to that one. I've stopped used gPodder ages ago.

Hello Ed,

  1. All my audiobook, documentary, radio drama and other spoken word files are tagged as either 'audiobook' or 'audio-book'.
  2. Pity. Seems such an obvious and worthwhile thing to do.

I'm going to add a config file where you can list the genres you'd like to save playing position for.

Fantastic. But where will it be? I've just had a look in usr/share/rhythmbox/plugins and I can't find any reference to Podcast Position Saver. And is there any chance of a ReadMe or similar with examples and instructions for the technical simpletons like me?

Right now you have to manually install it. I plan to test with RhythmBox 3.2 and then release a Debian package.
