1 year ago I like this idea and really hope it gets implemented. However, I feel that it should be authorized/used by TAC/SRT certed officers and have a limit as to how many can be at a scene. Similar to how a PIT needs to be approved.
Suggestion Description A bulletproof ballistic shields for cops to hold in one hand and shoot a pistol from the other. Maybe adding lights to it as well to replace the flashlight on the pistol.
Reason After numerous times of 25+ cops getting shot down to include the cleanup crew because criminals go to spots where it is extremely hard to push spots they are in due to the angles and in some spots, they can see us but we cant see them. Having a ballistic shield could offer that extra protection to push in further and not getting mag dumped coming down a flight of stairs like a sitting duck.
Additional context This could be made to be destroyed after taking so many shots by either dropping it when its destroyed or it just no longer is bulletproof. Could have areas of the feet or head exposed slightly to avoid complete cover, still giving the chance to disable the shield holder. As stated above it could be an extra tool for PD to use to push tight areas where 20+ cops just get mag dumped coming down a flight of stairs and cant do much. Command could make this a tac cert only thing and/or for certain situations where it deemed necessary where cops cant really push in without getting shot down with no chance.
