I'm thinking these four, but others more than welcome to come with some real cases.

• Showing search results within a set of map tiles?
• Showing all hits within a set of map tiles?
• Sorting a search result on closeness to a point?
• Showing the closest other search results to one selected search result?

So, some basic use cases:

• *-search and show the nearest 10
• Query search and show the nearest 10
• Shoule be able to switch to map or dual view.

Derived from starting points above:

• Be able to zoom out in map and get more results, and filter it down when zooming in.
