I'm more concerned that it has access to website content, eg passwords, credit cards.

It seems that Safari Tech Preview still allows the extension on Mojave. For now.

If anyone wants to get it working I can only say that I was using uBlock in Safari Tech Preview on High Sierra, upgraded to Mojave and had to uninstall Tech Preview and then install the Mojave version of it. When that was installed uBlock was already there, somehow using extension from the High Sierra install. Was a pleasant surprise, but I wouldn't bet on this process being all that repeatable. I'm thinking I'll have to switch to Firefox to continue to have full control over my browsing experience.

Thanks to those who spent so many hours on it for so many good years.

@tjcmorgan The same is true of every extension that can interact with page (also true of every ad network running scripts on every page you visit without uBlock). Apple's native content blocking does avoid this issue, but at the cost of severely limited blocking functionality.

An easy work around in the released version of Mojave is to go to Safari -> Preferences -> Extensions and turn it back on by checking the box to left of the extension name in the left hand extensions list. The warning still shows up in the Extensions preference pane, but the extension works as before once enabled.

Dear @el1t

  1. Would it be possible to add this directly to the mac store?

    • if YES, what can be done to help?
    • if NO, what is the problem? If it is an issue of money for the developer license (?) then I would be happy to give a small amount. I think that others might as well.
  2. This extension continues to be excellent. Thank you for your dedication.

This has been discussed ad nauseum. Read the threads before posting.

Sorry about that. For anyone else, please see Issue #124.
