2-Step Verification #2933

I suggest adding 2-Step Verification for matrix accounts to protect users accounts if they used a malicious server or if the admin is snooping on the user's data

I agree we are in 2022 2FA is now mandatory, services who do not propose it must be considered insecure.

So whats the update on this? Seems like there is 0 progress on this.

Anything that stops that annoying prompt for a security key every time I log in would be welcome. I'd like to see a response from someone on this. Is it an element issue, a Synapse issue, or both?
