Cannot start OneSync #158

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I install OneSync 4 (no errors reported), and click “close” when
completed.
2. Nothing happens, so I manually start the program (Start->All Program->GCL
Project).
3. The first time I started it, it asked me for preferred language (I selected
English), and I was told to restart the program. Which I did again as per 2.
4. The OneSync icon appears momentarily in the notification area, bottom right,
then disappears.
5. I get a report from Soluto to say that OneSync has crashed. This remains
the case even after a restart.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I obviously expect to see the OneSync window...and I see a crash report instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OneSync4 with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 English edition.

Please provide any additional information below.
I’m quite excited about this project! It’s something I’ve been looking
for for some time. But I can’t get it to run. Do you have any idea what
would be causing this? I noticed others have reported this issue, but
haven’t seen any solution.

Also, I tried emailing the support email listed in the wiki, but it keeps
bouncing back.

I have the same issue. Running Windows 7-64 bit if this makes any difference.

Just to add, tried it on another Win 7 64bit machine and exactly the same
again.

I've come to the conclusion that this is a dead project. Support email doesn't
work, and there's been no reply to any of this in ages.
I'm using puresync instead. I can't automate the syncing, but its does the job
quite nicely and cleanly.

LOL what a stupid admin. x64 Windows 7 is the leading OS for the potential
users of this project.
