Looks like we have to create Octane section and build new list, related to updated dx Links should be filtered, if content requre payment - link should be removed

maxwondercorn commented 3 years ago

these links are already in the list or duplicates in issue:

Does it make sense to create a new section for ember release blog entries?

@lifeart @maxwondercorn Hi, this was mentioned on the Ember Times for a potential writeup for awhile (apologies!). Is https://github.com/ember-community-russia/awesome-ember/pull/70 what you are looking for from contributors?

Maybe the issue could be a part of the contributors workshop at EmberConf, especially for newbies. Wasn't sure what you were thinking in terms of categorization of articles though? e.g. should most links be moved under one of these headers?

@amyrlam I can't speak for @lifeart but that's basically what I was doing. Update the readme and categorize as needed. I did create some new categories and the Octane category @lifeart mentioned is needed for some of the links.

I also think there should be a category for the Ember Times links because they don't fit in other categories.. I'm sue there are others.

Unfortunately I got busy and never got back to work on this (open source guilt 😢 )

lifeart commented 3 years ago

@amyrlam yes, you are correct, I was thinking about categorization under mentioned topics. Also, feel free to adjust existing categories or add new if needed.

Regarding contributors workshop, I was thinking about additional file, like articles.md or such for simplier contribution.

Some things to figure out:

Should we have "octane" and "pre octane" groups for articles? (to not confuse new ember developers) How to implement contribution strategy for workshop? (should links be chunked, or 1 mr = 1 article (to reduce merge conflicts))

maxwondercorn commented 3 years ago

I think octane and pre-octane is a good idea. When I was learning Ember during the 3.12 timeframe it was confusing to find information on 1.x while looking for answers. It only added to the learning curve.

Maybe pre-octane, octane and octane migration for those looking for help in migration?

@lifeart @maxwondercorn Hey, got lifeart's message on Discord (I'm @ amyrlam on there).

Let me find out more about the contributor's workshop because this seems like a good candidate. I can make a PR separating out the "articles categories" more and see what you think. This seems like a great resource for new and experienced devs in Ember!

BTW I noticed ember.cool doesn't redirect, should I remove it?

P.S. Never a reason to feel open source guilt!

lifeart commented 3 years ago

@amyrlam i’m working on getting ember.cool back (server redirect error)
