In the appendix on page A-7 it says "windings per unit length" is unitless.
It can't be unitless. What's more, it can't even be dimensionless.
It has dimensions of inverse length, and the SI unit is m^-1.
This is particularly obvious considering that the previous item is "objects per unit volume", measured in m^-3.
