is simplemodal still being maintained? (answer: no) #55

Can't tell but seems like activity has been scant, and releases even scant-er? Would be helpful to note in the README if this is no longer actively maintained...

There are many better options at this point, and unless you need IE6/7 support, there really isn't a need for a modal library, as almost all functionality can be achieved with CSS3.

That said, your suggestion is probably a good one, but I don't feel particularly comfortable making that decision for Eric.

I am not actively developing SimpleModal, but try and release updates when changes to jQuery or a browser causes breaking issues. I'm open to adding contributors.
