"Anybody Knows if there is a function for delete unused Columns, similar to "Delete unused Tracks" from Renoise Main menu?"

tkna91 commented 4 months ago

I checked the following, but there doesn't seem to be anything specific. https://forum.renoise.com/search?expanded=true&q=%22unused%20columns%22

I checked the behavior of xCleaner and it does not seem to have the ability to delete unused columns. https://www.renoise.com/tools/xcleaner

This seems to be a somewhat controversial matter. https://forum.renoise.com/t/delete-unused-tracks/23754/6

taktik Admins Nov '08 Its not so easy to find out if a track is really unused. Just the fact that there are no notes is not a guarantee that the track produces no sound. For example VSTs which their own sequencers or automation can produce sound on their own. Hence this option is not yet there…

Personally, I don't see a problem with leaving it up to the user.

@tkna91 thanks for looking well, taktik is talking about deleting tracks.. i think the originator of this idea is talking about hiding unused note columns.. not tracks

Ah, I must have misunderstood. The thread title was Delete Unused Tracks?. I have no problem with the fact that deleting tracks is a standard feature. As for deleting columns, as far as I lightly checked, it is probably not in the tools, etc.

the real issue with this is that i need to go through ALL the patterns to make sure there actually are unused columns. this could be ultra-slow.
