Given that 09e7005 failed but e0a33fb succeeded indicates there's a bug in assert_line in the bats-extra file. I'll dig into that a bit

OK got it:

the awk test runner uses a particular version of bats-core (Dockerfile) (or it did before exercism/awk-test-runner#28)
however the GitHub workflows do not
- the CI and PR workflows just apt install bats, and as those are both using ubuntu 22.04, we get bats version 1.2, the old broken sstephenson bats.
