Robot panel sometimes inexplicably crashes event loop #11

The robot panel often stops working, and/or stops the main interface from accepting keystrokes, etc. To reproduce, play with the panel for any length of time.

This may be an issue with Visual or with the way we are handling the event loops.

Move to a GTK+ interface with proper event loop handling should resolve this issue.
