I have windows 10 and Firefox 40.0.3

When I use the extended search I'm able to add and modify all parameters and search. However, when the search bar is done loading, no results are shown no matter how broad or narrow the search. If I click on Show Batch 2, it's more of the same.

Tumesc commented 9 years ago

Oh also, when I click on Extended Search at the top of the page it opens up the search parameters and performs the search in a new tab. I'm not sure if this is deliberate or not so I'm adding it anyway just in case.

Tumesc commented 9 years ago

Update: It's started showing the table, with the layout like age, gender, locality, etc, but no matter what the search it says "No data in table"

Slofe commented 8 years ago

Same for me on tampermonkey Dolphin for Android. It loads the same ten or so profiles every time regardless of parameters used. I then load batch 2 and it says 'No Data in Table.' I once left it running over night to see if more results were found but it made no difference. I live in a large city and I know there's more than ten profiles! I would use the classic version but the a/s/l box never appears even though the script is running. I have to go directly to the google page and run the script there. I get the same results (No a/s/l box appearing and No data in table) across all browsers I have installed for Android 4.4 (Firefox, Dolphin and Chrome). All browsers are up to date.

I think this is an insurmountable issue :(

Hi maeitar, First, thanks for writing this. I appreciate your effort, and made a Paypal contribution. I think the current version isn't working. I've tried it on both Chrome (Windows 10machine) and Firefox (Mac OS X Yosemite), and I would estimate that 5 or 6 queries have worked out of a hundred or so attempts. The rest of the time nothing ever gets returned, even if I let the script run for half an hour +. The very rare success is what makes it so puzzling--I can't seem to reproduce success reliably--it just seems random. Is there a way I can give information to help track down what's happening?

shyam821 commented 8 years ago

Yes it does not even open up!

hexeric commented 8 years ago

i second that it does not work at all. nothing shows up, it's searching but everything stays black. tested on mac in chrome and FF (vanilla versions) as well as win 8 with both browsers and vanilla config. this tool has sadly never worked for me!

DrFiz commented 8 years ago

really hope this issue could be fixed. tried using firefox and chrome on windows with latest script version (0.4.4.4), no luck.

fabacab commented 8 years ago

For those of you having trouble with the "Classic" search mode, you should update to the newest version (0.4.5, released today). This also fixes #27, which some of you have reported here as well.

hexeric commented 8 years ago

still no search results (extended) with the latest version for me ;(

Compression commented 8 years ago

Nope - no results. Windows 10 build 10586.165 and Chrome Version 49.0.2623.87 m.

Basically I have to reinstall the script each time I want to use it, and give it permissions each time as well. I load FL, click the A/S/L box, and load the new tab. I input all criteria (have tried complex in case it was pulling too much, as well as broad in case I wasn't getting any info) and both times it begins the load bar, but on completion nothing happens, and the bar stays grayed out even if I click reset. I have to close/reopen the tab again to try and search again.

Additionally, classic search also does not work.

LottieFox commented 8 years ago

I have no results either, Windows 10 Firefox 46.0.1 Chrome 50.0.2661.94 m

When using the extended version, the search bar just sits at the end. I have left it running overnight. Used both wide and broad parameters When using the classic mode, I always get 'No results found' message, even though I know that there are several members matching my search options.

MuviaGT commented 8 years ago

I'm having no results with extended search either. Something broken by FL?

MuviaGT commented 8 years ago

is there any word on a solution for this?

rob4 commented 7 years ago

I guess maybe the author is busy with other projects/life etc shame this tool has been abandoned it was great :(

DRSteven commented 7 years ago

you still seem to be active, can you give us an update? I'm willing to donate some to get this tool working again.

DRSteven commented 6 years ago

@Ornias1993 are you sure? I tested it on chrome and firefox I can login to fetlife, can select the asl box and then select my search criteria, then I can see the progress bar moving, but it doesn't return any results... (not the extended and not the slow search...)

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

PrivatePuffin commented 6 years ago

@DRSteven It seems the master server is still running on the old code.

I created a new issue so it gets updated. It has nothing do to with the codebase and this issue is no longer vallid please stop posting to this issue.

Hello, I have found out the problem, the program still works but where they have changed the html the program can not search cities and countries. For example United kingdom used to be https://fetlife.com/administrative_areas/3779 but now it is https://fetlife.com/p/united-kingdom/london-city-of/kinksters so the programme is trying to serch the old html (https://fetlife.com/administrative_areas/3779) can anyone fix this issue?

Cool! I'm not an amazing programmer but I'm gonna look into this. Thanks for finding the probable cause. Will share the solution if I can create a fix.

DeeJay91 commented 5 years ago

I have fixed it a little bit, I have got it to search through the country (that I am in, The United Kingdom) but it is not picking up anyone, the bars are loading (not just pausing) and when I log out and then log back in again it is showing me they I have been searching through it (for example it be on the 12th page for the country but no profiles are coming up.) so I got it searching through the countries again but not picking up any profiles.

I have found out that if you search for someone's friends on someones profile it lists all the type of people you search for on your list that is on there the first page of there friends then stops.

Unfortunately didn't had time to look into it yet, did you made any progress? And what did you change to make the loading bar working again?

I'm having the same issue since feb 19, the classic search has stopped returning any results.
