Hi,
I installed the wad.
When I launch, I get a black screen for several seconds before the Wii resets.

Sorry, scratch that, the default wad install runs from wiiflow_249, I
duplicated this
directory and renamed to wiiflow and the forwarder seems to boot wiiflow now.
I managed to get a successful boot 3 times on the trot, but only if I force the
Wii
to power down fully (by holding the power button for 7 seconds).
I have noticed that if I power of the Wii from the remote or from the Wii
itself but
just push the power button once, whilst everything goes off, the blue light on
my USB
HDD stays on. Powering on the Wii in this state prevents a successful boot and
the
only way to get into WiiFlow is to unplug and replug in the usb cable on the
screen
with the picture of the Wii. Even though it says to reset the console, plugging
the
drive back in on this screen boots into WiiFlow after a few seconds (when the
drive
has finished powering up).

Ok, I found if I change the Wii Connect options to off when in the Wii is in
stand-by, the USB is now powering down completely with a single press.
That means I can now get WiiFlow to initialise the drive 95% of the time if I
make
sure I power the Wii off each time. If I go back to the System Menu from a game,
that's not good enough, I have to power the Wii off and restart, but at least
thats
better than having to keep pulling the usb cable out :-)

OK, thanks. Have you tried using WiiFlow with IOS 222 instead of 249?
If not, please try it. Installation instructions for IOS 222 can be found here:
http://gwht.wikidot.com/hermes-ios222-223
After IOS 222 installation download the WiiFlow 222 dol and put it in your
/apps/wiiflow directory as boot.dol.

I have just the opposite problem. My HDD shuts down when i turn the wii off
just
fine. However it will not turn on when i power up the wii. The usb is in the
right
spot on the wii. I have physically unplug the power to the hdd the plug it
back in
to turn it on, then start the wii, and everything is fine. Any ideas how i
could
solve my problem? Thanks.

Hi Narolez,
I had considered downloading 222 for a while, but as everything (game wise)
seemed
fine with 249, had never got round to it.
I just tried it, doesn't seem to have made any difference, WiiFlow still boots
first
time from a cold start, but returning to the Wii System Menu from anywhere and
re-running WiiFlow cause the "Please plug a USB HDD on port - or press reset"
screen.
If left, it times out with "WBFS_Init Failed".

Just a comment to help you Narolez.
I've realized that NeoGamma has somekind of a code that "wake up" slow HDD, and
some
HDD just work on NeoGamma.
Maybe you could talk with Wiipower's so he could show you the code.

Hi Narolez,
Thanks for your help on this, I dumped the drive and bought a WD Passport which
works
beautifully, so don't worry about it, I thing some drives partially work and
that's it.

It works with R20 (only with wad file not dol file).
Where can I download the wad file for R25 version ?
Can I build it ?

hi, ive got seagate freeagent 500GB (split fat32/wbfs). Never had freezing prob
before but now I get it too using wiiflow and wii coverfloader. But i noticed
it only
happens if i launch them too quickly after homebrew channel ie, load HBC, then
quickly load wiiflow. If i wait 1 or 2sec then load wiiflow there is no freeze.
As a
test, I moved mplayer_ce to HDD and changed HBC to load it from there. I
disconnected
HDD and powered off wii. Reconnected HDD and started wii, then loaded HBC and
quickly
loaded mplayer_ce. It ran fine. So maybe wiiflow can borrow some code from
mplayer?
Or maybe theres a problem with my wbfs partition and mplayer works fine bcos it
uses
the fat32 partition. Might format wbfs partition and start again :(

Try updating to cios v15. Others have had similar problems and the latest cios

helped. See here:

Does seagate provide a setup utility for their drives? some drives require
programming to turn on the keep alive feature.

I have a similar problem to others. I have to use Neogamma to load my
HDD(seagate
free agent 500g desktop silver) after I turn my wii on. Then, I could use my
HDD
with Wiiflow. As long as I don't turn the console off, I can use wiiflow and
play
games. But if I turn the console off and on again, use wiiflow to load my HDD
at
first, it always shows the screen like, "there's no usb device, press reset"
something like that. Then, I have to reset, use Neogamma and so on. I've always
wondered, why Neogamma can make it work but wiiflow can't? I finally got the
answer
from the commenter 'nfernandes' up there, Thanks.
Could you please put the code which Neogamma has? Hope it's not that diffcult.

yes seagate has software to stop drive going to sleep which I set to never. But
problem is not that it goes to sleep or spins down, its because it doesnt start
up in
time after Wii is powered on and i start wii flow. like i said, if i wait a few
seconds after starting hbc and then start wiiflow it works like a charm

ok, i worked it out. The freeze is caused by HBC 1.0.6 (for me at least) and
only if
I load an application while the icon in bottom right corner (update HBC I
think) is
flashing. If you wait til it stops flashing then it doesnt freeze. I went back
to HBC
1.0.3 and no freeze even when icon is flashing

It works! I've tested 5 times with R27t1, it got frozen once but other 4 times
were
sucessful. I'm not trying to be greedy here but could you make it to a wad
channel
file when you finish the test version of this? Cause people like us, it won't
be
easy to do those injection things and all, kinda worried about bricking wii.
Anyway,
Thank you so much your help! I really appreciate it!

I'm having a similar issue, I just got a mybook home edition 500gb, created 2
partitions (FAT32 and a WBFS), the thing is, the only program that recognizes
it is
Wiixplorer (not even HBC does), but after wiixplorer, everything else
recognizes it
(triiforce, wiiflow, usbloader-gx, hbc...) could you guys take a look on how
wiixplorer initializes the usb? thats seems to do the trick
Thanks in advance

maybe try swapping partition order around...ie wbfs first, fat32 second
Original comment by kickith...@hotmail.com

I tried the same conf on another hard drive, on a generic case, and it worked
like a
charm, I think it has to do with the initialization process, I know MyBook (Home
Edition only) is kinda a pain in the ass, I read about using an esata to usb
adapter
to fix that, I was only thinking that if wiixplorer can start it, theres is a
software solution for this

Hi, Narolez.
could you do me one more favor? I've been trying to install game channels with
Loadstructor But cloader also can't detect my seagate freeagent hard drive. It
seems, it has same problem as the one wiiflow used to have which you fixed for
me
before. Could you fix this problem in cloader like you did for wiiflow? Or
Could you
make wiiflow compatible with Loadstructor? It would be the best christmas gift
for
me. Haha. Hope this is not so hard. Happy Holiday!

I have another suggetion for wiiflow. Could you make a function such as "Make
game
channel"? Just like clicking 'download cover' to download covers, it would be
great
if there's "make game channel" option. I think it's good to have but maybe it's
too
complicated?

I am getting the same issue. I do not know if it is my HDD or what. But I am
using
an older laptop hdd in an enclosure. As soon as I plug it into the usb slot it
starts up. But when I load wiiflow nothing happens it stays on the Please
wait...
screen. So the only fix I found so far was to reset the wii, go into wad
manager
and plug the hdd back in and mount the hdd from the usb 2.0 selection and it
works.
So I basically have to either do this everytime or put the wii in standby mode
which
keeps the hdd on. Will the forwarder work for this? or is my drive just too
old
its from a laptop that is almost 9 years old.

I'm sorry to bump this, but i've encountered the same problem that the initial
post describes. I've been using CFG for a month but I don't quiet like it, so I
tired the latest WiiFlow revi as of now. Using IOS249 requires me to replug the
drive every time I start the loader through HBC. When using IOS222 (tried v4
with base37+38 and v5.1 with base57) the screen with running dots and the
WiiFlow logo won't appear, it just stays black forever.
