Currently due to utilising AniList API, and the scope of this project, we are only allowed to store about 500 anime series locally (which we chose by random). However, in future iterations and with permission from AniList we could resolve this issue.
More Context:
After consulting with the prof we decided that it was best to avoid any legal issues. As such our team contacted the AniList team, and obtained thier permission to store 500 anime series locally for testing purposes and within the scope of this project (data selected randomly)

Reason for disagreement: I believe this is a valid issue that will affect the functionality of the program for the intended target audience -- translators as they always have to work on the most updated animes.
Based on the feedback that your team has provided, this bug report should have been labeled as [response.NotInScope] instead of downright rejecting it. As this is a valid issue, but your team should not be penalized for it due to the limitations of the project.
The built-in catalogue is quite outdated. It does not have more recent popular animes like Attack on Titan (Jap: Shingeki No Kyojin), Tokyo Ghoul, Demon Slayer (Jap: Kimetsu no Yaiba). This may hinder the workflow of the translator.
