No admin rights but Visual Studio already installed. Can I make it work?

I don't have admin rights, but I already have Visual Studio 2017 installed and usable in my computer.

However, node-gyp cannot find it for some reason.

Can windows-build-tools help me in this case? How?

same problem except that visual studio 2017 is not installed
