Unable to add character on fresh installation #23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click File->Manage Characters
2. Under new character tab input proper account ID and Full API key
3. Click button: load character list

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected a list of characters, instead received a message box with the
following: "Unable to load character list. Check internet connection and
your fields data"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
On both Windows Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64.

Please provide any additional information below.
Running as administrator does not resolve the issue. I am behind a router.
EVEMon and EveHQ work with my current configuration using the same user ID
and full api key.
