To add some additional info. to the issue I flagged, I have discovered that Ubuntu seems to be disabling the extension when it goes to the lock screen. After logging back in, the toggle switch on the extension in the extension manager app is grayed out. (Incidentally, the same is true of another extension I use, Dash to Dock.) If I toggle the switch again, the extension reappears.
It sounds like Ubuntu is detecting that one of the extensions has crashed, and is thus disabling all of them as a precaution. This doesn't happen on any of my test machines, but I've been re-writing TopHat to be more reliable, so hopefully the next release will resolve this issue.
I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 and having an issue where Tophat doesn't reappear after logging back in from suspend or lock. It does, however, show up again on a reboot.
