Can't launch steam games on NVIDIA GPU before launching a native game first #1250

Distribution name and version where applicable Fedora 39 KDE Spin using Wayland

Flatpak info flatpak --version Flatpak 1.15.6

flatpak --gl-drivers nvidia-545-29-06 default host

Problem description I can't launch most 3d games in my library, They may or may not pop up any error message.

The witcher 2 shows "Direct3D 9 device initialization error", Oblivion just shows a black box and then exit.

I am using a laptop with an NVIDIA dedicate GPU.

I can "fix" the issue by running a native 3D app on NVIDIA GPU, such as vkcube or use prime-run to run glxgears

Does this issue reproduce with native Steam No

I also have this problem on Fedora KDE 39 wayland, nvidia 550.54.14
