@noahtalerman: User requested this because they charge the department monthly for the number of workstations that department has. They need to determine device ownership, specs, and usage to feed into internal billing (via ServiceNow/CMDB). Today, they pull data from Jamf and SCCM to support this flow but would prefer to use Fleet as a unified source for macOS, Windows, and Linux devices.
@noahtalerman: In the interim users could poll the Fleet API to put hardware data in ServiceNow.
@noahtalerman: Eventually Fleet could:
Pull device assignment, hardware specs (RAM, CPU), and user mappings from Fleet’s API into ServiceNow/CMDB to support billing.
Either ingest attestations from ServiceNow into Fleet or push attestations from Fleet into ServiceNow.
Leverage this integration to programmatically classify devices into billing tiers based on specs and assign monthly fees to internal groups based on who has what.
@allenhouchins: This would be part of CMDB and ITAM modules in ServiceNow.
