For chatter and historical curiosity (as opposed to bugs and feature requests), https://gitter.im/desync-casync-client is generally a more appropriate forum.
By my hazy recollection (as one of the two parties involved), "desync" was playful -- this was initially a cousin to casync that did fewer things (but faster and more robustly). One could argue that one was deconstructing casync and taking only the functionality that was meaningful to its initial users, but that's really a retrospective justification.
(It's quite possible that Frank may remember better than I do).
where did the "de" part come from? I know casync is a portmanteau of CAS and rsync.
