Way to reset or show all on categories #143

Closed pmackay closed 10 years ago

djwesto commented 10 years ago

I've set this to be a show-stopper and assigned it to Paul, although I'm happy to try to do it.

Likewise, if @GilesGibson doesn't think it's a showstopper, please feel free to change to a p2.

pmackay commented 10 years ago

Most pages that have categories have a "List" link at the top - would it be enough to use that? This isnt massively broken so setting to p2.

pmackay commented 10 years ago

I've added a "View all" link at the top of /services. Could you check and see if this is ok? It would need some custom styling to look similar to view rows.

djwesto commented 10 years ago

Nice work. I can give a slightly different style to your View All link on /services - sure.

As for the others, I think the "List" tab isn't brilliant UX: it probably wouldn't occur to users to click that to reset the listing but it'll do for launch unless Giles insists on a View All link on all lists.

pmackay commented 10 years ago

OK if you're happy with that I could update other lists?

GilesGibson commented 10 years ago

Glad that there is a reset all option somewhere.

How are we going to do the filter on tags? Currently it is just the service categories (soon to be edited down in numbers).

djwesto commented 10 years ago

I thought we agreed the other day that we wouldn't offer a sidebar filter for tags, but that we'd just allow users to click tags that appear on a particular node page if they see a tag that's useful to them?

On this service landing page, you can see the tags just under the map on the right,.

If by node page do you mean the individual service listingŠ?

If so, I think we need to offer some greater degree of granularity on search/filtering. If we have the service categories to start with and then when they click on a specific category I think we were then going to offer the tags to refine a search?

Apologies if I am confusedŠ.

pmackay commented 10 years ago

i think this filtering on tags needs a separate issue.

pmackay commented 10 years ago

All category lists should now have title and View all link.

djwesto commented 10 years ago

Well done. So can we close this now?

I will add a new Issue for Giles's point about greater granularity of searching / filtering...

pmackay commented 10 years ago

Do those view all links need a bit of theming? Have left open.

djwesto commented 10 years ago

Yes, they do.

djwesto commented 10 years ago

Hi both, please can you check the theming I've done on the "View all" link at the top of the category menu?

If it's Ok please close this issue.
