Suggested reorganization #40

Hi @teixeirak and @beckybanbury -

A really solid start but right now the introduction is really long and confusingly organized. This is one possible reorganization that might help you, and the readers, structure things a bit more clearly. Note that I've bolded each paragraph's topic sentence, which I find a really useful way to easily see the sequence of main points. Anyway, whether or not you use this, I do think some similar step is needed before specific wordsmithing. Happy to help provide further feedback if useful! Thanks.
