Bounties for Foresight Technical Groups

Each of these will run for 6 weeks, the objective is to stimulate conversation and get people thinking about interesting and relevant future science. Submissions will be in the form of project proposals for solving these issues, and several winners will be chosen for each category. A short overview on the problem, a description of a solution, and your plan to implement it are required in the submission.

A means of creating perfluorocarbon (super green house) gases on some planets from carbon and fluorine, including finding large sources of fluorine in Mars minerals.

Terraforming requires heat control, which could possibly be achieved using space-based mirrors. However, these mirrors are subject to gravitational forces and solar winds – how would you suggest keeping them in place in space?

Greeatings, Space. I appreciate your briefing, and would like to know more about the submit. Curious things always come together with discovery. 2) astraioss has started work.

Hey there, this seems like a really interesting topic to get researching on. The prospects of terraforming are becoming fathomable with new advances within companies such as SpaceX so I think it is important to address factors like this. I will start this project as soon as possible, firstly researching into the contributions of solar winds and forces then the practical issues currently in place with current solutions before touching on potential advancements. 3) bucko504 has started work.

I think ideally a team of smaller, potentially mobile, space based mirrors would be better. Possibly in low orbit working in parallel wirelessly? To keep a larger one in place I think it would have to be a solar or RF charging propulsion system. Possibly multiple propulsion systems at different angles / axis for support thru Tensegrity Suspension? Really depends on how "in place" it needs to be? And its relative location in "space" to the next stationary objects. Find a spot where gravitational forces work in harmony to keep stationary? Wishful thinking. Just throwing ideas out there . 4) ify01 has started work.

i will give my best project proposal on this issue.
