Mike -
Does it crash immediately when enabled?
Start rhythmbox from a terminal
please paste.ubuntu.com the terminal errors you see when enabling the plugin
also what trace do you have if you run
rhythmbox -d
wait until the trace stops in the terminal (i.e. after your music collection has fully loaded). Then enable the plugin
again use paste.ubuntu.com
thanks.
Looking into this a bit more, to get RB to crash, I need to select an album in the Cover Art source, then mouse out of the window.
Without -d, nothing is printed when enabling the plugins after the library has been fully loaded. The following is when selecting the Cover Art source for the first time:
(rhythmbox:10901): Gtk-WARNING _: /build/buildd/gtk+3.0-3.10.7/./gtk/gtkwidget.c:6151: no accelerator (98,4) installed in accel group (0xe59f20) for GtkToggleButton (0x10c6610) (rhythmbox:10901): Gtk-WARNING _: /build/buildd/gtk+3.0-3.10.7/./gtk/gtkwidget.c:6151: no accelerator (101,8) installed in accel group (0xe59f20) for GtkMenuButton (0x1d4e550)
Output from -d to follow.
Actually, to get it to crash, I need to select an album in the Cover Art source, then cause at least the window to lose focus (Alt-Tab out, click on another app window, etc).
Output from rhythmbox -d is here since it is huge: https://bugs.launchpad.net/coverartbrowser/+bug/1286002/+attachment/4002955/+files/rb-debug.txt
Lets keep this thread on launchpad - I'll close this for now.
Possible duplicate?
Hi - please can you try out the latest code as per issue #305 and let me know if this also resolves your issue?
thanks
Oh yeah, totally looks like #305 - hitting Alt when CoverArt browser is focused reliably crashes.
Just upgraded to trusty beta 1 and RB is now crashing when the coverart-browser is installed from the PPA and enabled.
