Approaching Tareq about data entry

Are we ready to approach Tareq about the availability of volunteers for data entry and user testing.

Update on where we are on Data Entry:

• @Suuuuha and @philawsophizing should have finished off the first (short) sprint that Reem and Jack started a while ago by Monday evening (they have only worked on it for 2 days so far, so this is excellent going)
• At the moment, it will allow anyone to view and add to the "Places" table, by monday update(PUT) should be complete. As events and products will be very similar, getting those out afterwards shouldn't take too long.
• However, this sprint was originally expected to be done by mid-august, before we had any authentication set up on the Platform
• The idea I guess was to make this as simple an app as possible so Data Entry can happen straight away, and as we would only be giving the data entry to known volunteers, the security aspect shouldn't be a massive issue.
• However, with Oauth on the platform now complete, within the next week routes that we had previously expected to be open for the Data Entry will now be secured (notably the POST and PUT routes)
• This would obviously mean we would need to add oauth login via the OTP, which will add a fair bit of sprint time to the Data Entry app
• With this being the case, I see us as having two options:
  1. Leave the POST request routes on the API completely open. We can then direct Suha to finish off a V1 version of the data entry, allowing volunteers to view and add to the Places, Events, and Products tables. This should not take more than a week by the teams current working pace. Updating the tables can wait for V2 as these will (and should) be secured. This will allow basic Data Entry to happen sooner, and allow us to take some time over using Oauth on the data entry app. When V2 is done we can then secure the POST routes as well on the OTP
  2. Stick with the current plan of securing the POST routes on the API (if this is the plan, it can be done almost instantly, pending a few pull requests we have open). I can then work with Suha to get the Oauth flow of the data entry app working (today I have built a mini app that logs in and accesses secure routes on the platfrom via oauth - however this was a proof of concept and I expect production ready code might take a little longer.

I am very much in favour of approaching Tareq to find out if he still has any volunteer resource. If he does, then we should schedule time to sit down with those volunteers and: a) do some user testing; b) get them started on data entry by scraping content from http://www.nazarethinfo.org/

I really don't expect Tareq to have volunteers available at short notice, but you never know. The important thing is to establish if he has any and when they are likely to be available.

At this point, I see no reason to change from the current plan--but we do need to line up some testing and data entry resources in advance.

@m4v15 my vote is for option i, "Leave the POST request routes on the API completely open", which is what I thought we were planning all along (see here)
