Misc item from my readings. Looks like DDN is now the primary vendor involved in Lustre. I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing but listing this here so I don't forget it.

Consider additional inode count past 387million per #259 I believe also ZFS backed OSS allow inode expansion later. (Confirm)
Another item noted in passing. http://lists.lustre.org/pipermail/lustre-discuss-lustre.org/2018-May/015584.html
Lustre replaced with USS Storage
I've done a bit of research on the options for the migration of Lustre from the "Intel Enterprise" version we have and the now open sourced components of said Lustre version.
When Intel stopped selling IEEL they contributed their code and management tool to open source Lustre and there is now a "LTS" version of Lustre that I believe tracks a stable and "boring" version of Lustre suitable for a cluster where you just want solid filesystems.
I continue to look into the options but at some point perhaps this summer we should consider migration. I am not sure yet the level of impact. This Git it merely to mark I've looked into it.
If we planned EXPANSION of Lustre we would do the migration as part of that.
