I've updated the script to work with Linux Mint 19.1. I also spent a lot of time just generally cleaning up this script.
I've fully tested this script on a fresh install of mint 19.1 onto a Sandy Bridge i3 machine that was sitting out on the sale shelves. I ran through every step of the QA process and everything is fully functional including sound, networking, DVD autoplay and YouTube playback.
