I usually store latest version I've built for myself here https://yadi.sk/d/U3Z7QK7Aing6D?w=1 If you want, you can use it too
How would I get this onto my linux build and install it? Would I use apt-get that link, and install it that way or?
I figured out how to go about it and got it working. Thanks.
However I will keep the issue up as the website does need to be updated.

freelan 2.2-1 was uploaded to Debian Unstable already on 13th of January 2020. So in theory this issue could have been closed immediately as the issue was already solved a week before.
But of course this won't update the package version in any already released Debian Stable release (Debian 10 Buster back then — which is probably where @ndo360 wanted version 2.2) as packages in there only get security updates, not feature updates.
But for a month or two now, Debian 11 Bullseye is out and contains freelan 2.2-3, so this issue can now really be closed.
Greetings!
